Dena
later became my wife and is now better known to a lot
of you out there as Mom. Several nights a week we
would drive to Fibber
McGees, load the equipment into our car, (One of us would
have to ride in the back
seat to get it all to fit!) drive to Rockwall, host the
show. After midnight we
would break down, load up the equipment, drive it back to Fibbers
in Dallas &
set it back up for their show later on in the week. Whew!
After not too long
of a time, Dena & I decided to buy our own equipment and jumpfeet
first into this interesting business. We wanted to host
the best shows possible without becoming a big, multi-system company.
We were going to be a good, strong, reliable mom and pop
operation. The rest is history. Dena & I run a fair, straight
ahead, fun and widely diverse show with no breaks. Our singers
seem not only to accept, but to enjoy all styles, age groups
and classes of music.
We accept no tips
or bribes to unbalance our rotation.
We start earlier
and go later than most shows. Some times it takes
a while to get up to sing if we have a lot of singers, but its
not because of break
music or the shuffling of the order of the list of singers.
Our ever-growing
library of songs consists of over 19,500 selections ranging from
Patsy Cline to 50 Cent & beyond. We would like to thank our
friends, family (including our great kids Ronnie, Kevin, Danielle,
Jonah, Michelle, Ken & Kuiama)
Thanks also to our
mentors, (Glenn Lukin, Laretta, the late Fibber McGee and Karen
Sorge).
Without you, there
would be no Mom and Pop Productions.
To all of you karaoke addicts out there, come see us. We think
you will be glad and we know we will! Keep coming back!
